VIDEO: Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy
Time for some Solid Sound Festival hype. The Wilco-curated, three-day Happening is coming to Mass MoCA on August 13-15. ANTI- records just released this promo video for You Are Not Alone, the upcoming (September 14) Mavis Staples album Jeff Tweedy produced and wrote some songs for. Indeed, musically speaking, the earthy, stately title track sounds like a Sky Blue Sky-era Wilco song. My favorite part of this is that she just calls him “Tweedy.” And, oh, yeah Mavis is playing Solid Sound…w00tness.
