ARTICLE: "A night for memories" (Roger McGuinn and...
Check out my review of Roger McGuinn and Tom Rush at Pittsfield’s Colonial Theatre on Saturday, published in the Berkshire Eagle.
“Each performer delivered a pleasant, well-rounded set designed more to trigger memories of when the songs were revelatory than to stir any fresh passion. But that, of course, is what everyone came for—and it takes a consummate professional to so reliably...

ARTICLE: "Roger McGuinn: On his own terms"
Check out my feature on Roger McGuinn, published in today’s Berkshire Eagle. McGuinn plays a double bill with Tom Rush in Pittsfield, MA on Saturday.
“Though the conventional history of rock holds that The Beatles (John Lennon in particular) started incorporating atypical chord changes after hearing Dylan’s work, McGuinn traces the influence back to the Fab Four’s Liverpool roots....
The Onion headed to TV

Check out my advance feature on Sam Bush’s upcoming show at Pittsfield’s Colonial Theatre, published in today’s Berkshire Eagle.
“We were taking influences outside of the bluegrass world and applying them to our instruments. It didn’t really seem at the time, and it still doesn’t seem to me like such an odd thing to do,” Bush says. “Yeah, we sort of broke the norm. Yeah, we...

Hold Your Horses!—"70 Million" video
French band Hold Your Horses! is soon to self-release the double A-sided single “70 Million/Boston Tea Party.”
The video for “70 Million” (below) has been online since February 26. It’s very satisfying at several levels. The song is a breezy, indie-pop winner. The video creates 25 tableux vivants based on a Greatest Hits of fine art history. And it’s not...

phishnet:
Sometimes this link becomes enveloped in the folds of the Internet and obscured from view via search engines. But, as I’m coming across it right now while on other business, it seems as good a time as ever to post this link.
This piece of mine was in the on-site newspaper at Phish’s Coventry festival (8/04), and never really been circulated digitally. Enjoy (one hopes).
